Sustainability Reporting Skills Strengthened Through Pakistan Training Initiative
5 December 2025 —The second round of a three-day training program on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability reporting concluded successfully in Karachi, following an earlier session held in Lahore in September.
Organized by WWF-Pakistan in collaboration with IFC – International Finance Corporation, with technical support from Spectreco, the program brought together private-sector professionals to strengthen capabilities in integrating ESG considerations into strategy and risk management, and to enhance sustainability disclosures aligned with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) ESG Roadmap and Guidelines.
The training also supported participants in preparing for the phased adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (S1 and S2), which came into effect in Pakistan in July 2025, helping companies align reporting practices with emerging international requirements.
This initiative forms part of IFC’s ongoing collaboration with SECP under the UK-supported ESG Pakistan Project, aimed at building market capacity and enabling companies to meet global ESG expectations that support sustainable growth and investment. The project is implemented with support from the Facility for Investment Climate Advisory Services (FIAS) and funded through the CIFPAK facility, a climate-focused blended finance program managed by IFC in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
